National Judicial Institute and National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies Forge New Partnership

The Administrator of the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Hon. Justice Babatunde A. Adejumo, OFR, paid a courtesy visit to the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) today, September 19, 2025. The visit aimed to explore areas of collaboration and partnership between the two institutions.

 

During the visit, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo expressed gratitude to the Director-General of NILDS, Prof. Abubakar O. Suleiman, and his management team for the warm reception. He emphasized the need for collaboration and partnership between NJI and NILDS in areas of mutual interest, citing the importance of synergy in promoting democratic governance and rule of law in Nigeria.

 

A Technical Working Committee was established to explore areas of collaboration and partnership between the two institutions. This committee will drive the partnership efforts and identify opportunities for mutual benefit.

 

Prof. Abubakar O. Suleiman, Director-General of NILDS, described the visit as a landmark in the history of their Institute. “We recognize the importance of the National Judicial Institute and National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies as tripod stands for democratic governance in Nigeria. I describe the Administrator as a thorough breed technocrat, a judicial icon, a consummate politician, and administrator per excellence.”

This partnership marks a significant step towards promoting collaboration and synergy between the NJI and NILDS, ultimately contributing to the development of democratic governance in Nigeria.
